Privacy policy

What we collect, and why

• The name you choose (for example "Sam"), so your partner can see who added what.
• Your lists and recipes: grocery items, to-dos, due times, notes, saved recipes and the links you save. These are the app.
• A random account ID created when you first open the app. We don't ask for your email, phone number or password.
• A push notification token, if you allow notifications, so we can tell you things like "Sam is at the shop".
• Recipe links you import. Our server opens the page you shared to read the recipe and keeps a copy of its photo so it doesn't disappear later.

We don't collect your location, contacts, photos, health data or advertising IDs. There are no adverts, no tracking and no selling of data, ever.

Who can see it

Only people in your home (people you invite with a code). We don't share your data with anyone else, except the service providers below who run the app for us.

Where it's stored

In Google Firebase (Firestore, Authentication, Cloud Functions, Storage and Cloud Messaging), hosted in London (europe-west2). Push notifications are delivered by Apple (iOS) or Google (Android). Siri requests are handled by Apple on your device and we only receive the text of what you asked to add. Google acts as our processor under its data processing terms.

How long we keep it

Until you delete it. Ticked-off items you clear are deleted straight away. You can delete your account and all your data at any time from inside the app.

Your rights

Under UK GDPR you can ask for a copy of your data, ask us to correct or delete it, or object to how we use it. Email hello@obubba.com. Our lawful basis is contract (providing the app you asked for). If you're unhappy with how we handle your data you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk.

Children

Pantry Pal is designed for adults and families and isn't directed at children under 13.

Changes

If we change this policy we'll update the date above, and tell you in the app if the change is significant.
